The Ann Arbor Juggling Arts Festival is slated for Saturday May 10th at Wide World Sports Center 2140 Oak Valley Drive Ann Arbor Michigan. We have sent a five ball set of our popular Phat Tyre Pro 90 juggle balls with logo pouch as a donation for the festival raffle. We love sending these juggle balls out and and seeing the response we get. Jugglers are recommending us to others and that is about the highest compliment that can be given and we appreciate it. Our motto here is “When jugglers talk, Flying Clipper listens”.

Flying Clipper wants to thank the festival staff for putting on a great event and allowing us to participate.

Good morning Jim,
I received my Phat Tyre Pro 90′s yesterday, and you were correct!  I love them!!  They are excellent to juggle with and exactly what I was looking for (something between a squishy beanbag and a more solid, stiffer ball).  I flashed up all five of them successfully several times last night, and they feel great plopping back down into my hands.  And the weight is perfect and definitely is helping me make more accurate throws.  I feel like these will go a long way towards helping me attain the 5 ball cascade I am after in the next month or two.  And I love the feel of them.  I could just hold one in my hand, tossing it around, stalling it, and squishing it, for hours I think!  Also, the electric yellow does indeed glow brightly under a black light, so that’s a bonus!!
Thanks for your help, and thanks so much for the logo carry bag!  I’ll almost assuredly be ordering more props from you guys in the future.
Kris

Note from Flying Clipper: We appreciate the feedback – please keep it coming.

Flying Clipper teams up with the American Youth Circus Organization to help with their upcoming 2014 Circus Educators Conference. We plan to continue this relationship adding more donations and product discounts to their members. We are sure our Phat Tyre Pro 90 juggle balls will be a hit as a promotional give away at their next event. There is nothing better than a Flying Clipper handmade juggle ball and we are happy to share what we already know…professionals prefer a Flying Clipper product over all other handmade juggle balls.

Niels Duinker accepts our challenge to make him the next set of juggle balls to be considered by him to use in a performance. We have just sent him 10 Tossaball Hybrid Performance juggle balls made to his specifications for weight and diameter. We sourced for real Ultra Leather® and not just any man-made leather to insure the highest quality fabric. Weighing in at a whopping 180 grams and three inches in diameter, these all white juggle balls are not meant for every juggler, just the great Niels Duinker and we hope he likes them. We have a lighter version of the same ball offered in limited quantity at Flying Clipper. com and like all of our juggle balls these beauties are hand made and washable.

We appreciate Niels Duinker for his feedback which is helping us craft great juggle balls.

To quote a famous songwriter…What a long strange trip its been! :=) After 31 years of designing and producing our own original designed hand sewn footbags and juggle balls, we can honestly say something that not many in the business can… we have blazed our own trail and followed no one in what we created. At first selling one or two footbags down at the Eugene Saturday Market meant we could order pizza that night. After a few years we started getting more and more business and eventually employed up to 10 local sewers not including the partners of Reed Gray, Dennis Ross and Jim Fitzgerald who combined hand sewed more than 100,000 footbags and juggle balls in our “made in Oregon” phase of the business. In the late 1980′s and early 1990′s  Flying Clipper was producing thousands of handmade juggle balls for both Brian Dube and Klutz juggling, every one handmade in Eugene. Did you know that more handmade things come out of Eugene Oregon than any other city in the country? We were part of that movement.  Footbag and juggle ball sales were at full swing for our made in Oregon products. To be truthful I am a living example of someone who has given all to his craft. If I knew then what I know now, I would have stopped sewing much earlier than I did. I now suffer greatly with repetitive motion problems and arthritis in the shoulders and arms. Just ask another famous hand sewer of juggle balls, Fergie about that, I am sure he would agree. However because of the high cost of labor in today’s competitive market, Flying Clipper decided to go offshore to begin producing products under our strict standard for quality for the wholesale market. We still produced our made in Oregon products for craft shows such as the Oregon Country Fair which Flying Clipper is part of and has been part of since 1984. Flying Clipper can also say that our original designs are the most copied around the world. If you go to Wikipedia and search the term “footbag” you will see a Flying Clipper original patented  design offered as what a typical freestyle footbag looks like (the patent has run its course) . There is a good chance that Flying Clipper made THAT footbag!
Its great to be able to say that we are still putting out new products to meet an ever changing market. We can safely say that we are experts in how to design and produce handmade balls. I think we are changing peoples minds about handmade balls and the cross over between footbags and juggle balls is now becoming part of the culture with hands and feet jugglers such as the great Peter Irish and Jorden Moir who both enjoy using Flying Clipper products for their performances. It has been a long strange trip…but there is more yet to come. A big thanks to all of our long time supporters out there, you know who you are and we salute you!  Please join us in saying Happy birthday Flying Clipper!!!

Bill Coad continues posting new multiplex juggling records using Flying Clipper handmade balls. This one is for 10 ball quadplex and he manages 100 catches to set a new record. Bill could use other balls for his record attempts but he understands our commitment to producing a juggle ball for every discipline of juggling. We appreciate Bills’ efforts and we are sending him our latest offering of 8 new 32 panel 2.55″ RECYCLED rubber filled juggle balls. We have designed these beauties to fit Bills style of juggling and we hope it will help him achieve his next record. Thanks Bill and keep up the good work.
