This is a repost from the Official IFPA Announcements list. We love and support the Footbag Hall of Fame and some of our favorite people are inductees. We figured we’d keep our friends and fans posted on events happening with the Footbag Hall of Fame here at our blog, so we created a new blog category for it today.

To Footbag players, their families, and their fans,

The Footbag Hall of Fame Historical Society (http://www.footbag.org/hof) is
pleased to announce that the 2013 Footbag Hall of Fame nomination process
began January 21st, 2013 and ends March 31, 2013, so please think about who
you believe should be nominated and submit your nomination by going to the
nomination form which can be found on the two forum pages or at the bottom
of the Hof page, at the following link. (http://www.footbag.org/hof). The
forums will show who has already been nominated and their testimonies, so if
you want to support an existing nomination, then we ask that you go to the
nomination form and write your support there as well as on the forums.

The criteria for these nominations and induction to the Hall of Fame is
located here:

Thanks in advance to all of the footbag community for your continued
enthusiastic support of the Footbag Hall of Fame by participating in this
years upcoming nominations process.

We like reposting the IFPA announcements for our fans who digest through Facebook and Twitter and don’t get a chance to get all the updates they send out via email.

We figure the more the merrier when it comes to spreading the word on footbag events around the world, so today we’re adding a new category to our blog for European Events. We’ll likely be adding more categories for other regions as other events come up as well, such as in South America where Flying Clipper is sponsoring footbag development similar to our work in Africa.

Now, for the event details!

Paris 8-10 February 2013

The Open de France de Footbag will be held once again in Paris. This IFPA
sanctioned event is the biggest winter indoor footbag competition in the World.
Last time, over 100 players and aficionados from all over the world came
to Paris.

Pre-registration is open on the event page on Footbag Worldwide at http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1354752474
Please register NOW.

The registration fee is 40 Euros, which includes access to all gyms, free
breakfast on all tournament days and pasta/rice salads at lunch time.
Please note that a 10 Euros extra fee will be charged on all players who do
not pre-register online on http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1354752474

The 13e ODF will be again one of the top footbag events this winter season.
Defending Champion Milan Benda (CZE) and Shred:30 World Champion Aleksi
Airinen (FIN) plus other top freestylers from Europe have already confirmed
their attendance. Open Singles Net Champion Karim Daouk (SWI) will be
there to defend his title against a whole bunch of international challengers.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of the show !

As we mentioned briefly in a previous post, we just sent 100 footbags to Daniel Boyle in Chile! He’s doing work with children in schools to help them learn English using Footbag. Lots of kids just have too much energy in class, and he’s found a way to use sports to teach subjects like English. He’s trying hard to get his program off the ground, and we’re helping him out with some free bags and access to our platform to write about his experiences.

Daniel is a professional writer and has agreed to send us occasional updates for the blog and even some video content to share with our awesome fans — that’s you!! We’re super excited about this partnership, and we can’t wait for our bags to clear Chilean customs and start getting distributed!

Be sure to stay tuned here at the Flying Clipper blog and at our Twitter Page and Facebook for updates on how Daniel is doing and where his new bags ended up!

You can also follow Daniel on Twitter in case you just can’t wait to hear what he is up to :)

Daniel’s journey to Chile | Bega District News.

This is a ReBlog from the Bega District News website, a south-eastern newspaper in Australia.

Recently Flying Clipper has partnered with Daniel Boyle in his footbag adventures in South America. Similar to our work in Africa, we love partnering with inspired individuals that want to make a difference in the world using footbag as a medium. Daniel is one such individual, with a gift for writing, footbag, and much more.

We’re supporting him with 100 footbags to give out and use for his educational programs in Chile. We’re expecting to have coverage of how this goes coming here at our blog as we get updates from Daniel, so stay tuned here for fun videos and articles about what he’s up to with the Flying Clipper footbags we sent him :)

Be sure to click through for the original article. It has a great picture of Daniel and some kids he plays footbag with and more information about what he is doing in South America and what it has to do with students and footbag.
